One a Day-December 22nd, 2010: Disparate Elements
One of the things I love about doing collage is how several disparate elements, in this case differing in time, space and intention, can come together for something like this. The background for this piece was an exercise in a stamp/embossing resist for orange Windsor-Newton ink and walnut ink on watercolor paper...I did this several months ago trying to make it a background for collage. It didn't work for me that night, but it came to the fore this evening when somehow it, the transparency in the slide mount, which I had used in a banner for a Web site years ago, and the book binding and scrap from the cover of some sheet music all came together in this piece. That's what I love, how things like come together as if by accident in my messy workspace.
The stamp on the slide mount is a da Vinci stamp by Stampington & the background stamp is by Melanie Sage (sold at Alluring Impressions).

eBay
Wouldn't it be cool if you could send a message to the person who outbids you in the last ten seconds of an auction that says, "thank you for outbidding me I don't need this crap anyway."
