Love the eye collage...very balanced in terms of design, and interesting choices of color! I'm curious about the message behind the piece...of the possible symbolism of the colors and circles.
Kim, I really liked your article in Somerset. I also always loved the deckled edges on my watercolor paper and was disappointed when they got covered up by mats--usually by my clients who frame traditionally. Next time I think I will try mounting the piece with a margin so the framer understands not to crop out the rough edges. best, Miriam Schulman
@Jenny - thanks, you're on spot about the balance thing, that's all I was really consciously doing. But in terms of what's behind the piece, your guess is as good as mine. It was late, I was tired, an I just picked up a couple scraps of paper in front of me and put them together. Your interpretation of the color and circles is as good as mine is and most likely better....I was just tired and wanting to get something done and go to bed.@SchulmanArt - thanks for your kind words about my article, my sense of yours is to suggest to the people who frame your work to [ut the work on top of the mat rather than the matt on top of the work. That would be pretty cool.
