Red Chunky Book Winner! and Update

The winner of the best art for the swap is... Joan L. (RSJoan) of Sheboygan, Wisconsin!

Congratulations Joan!

This was an almost IMPOSSIBLE decision to make, as there is a LOT of fantastic artwork in this swap, and SO MANY people did such a lot of work on their pages. But in the end it boiled down to the piece of art that kept giving me the "ohs" and "ahs" the most often through binding 45 books...Each piece of Joan's is different and original, but the basic elements are the same -- layering of paper, skeleton leaves, Artchix images, transparencies, and/or faux postage, red German scrap, and a lovely spattering of paint. Yum!

Today I mailed out books to all of the players outside the U.S. and to Helga, and to Joan. Each day this week, I will take a load of books to the post office either before or after work, and they should all be in the mail by the end of the week. I can't be home for the PO to pick up, and I can't logistically take all of the boxes to the PO at once, so this is how I'm doing it. They are all going Priority Mail.

Any questions, give a shout! -Kim

Altered Abbey Skinny Book Swap

Sent off my Altered Abbey Skinny book pages to Chrysti today, what a project. I've uploaded them all to my Flickr account, to see them click on the image below.

All of the pages are 4 x 8" on 140 lb watercolor paper. The backgrounds were done using Chrysti's background technique as described in the July/August issue of Cloth Paper Scissors, that involves laying acrylic paint and ink using various direct and mono-printing techniques. A total of 26 pages in all, I was sorry to come to the end of them.
