GPP Street Team Crusade #18-Cut it out!

It's been a awhile since I've done a GPP Street Crusade, so I thought I'd jump in again. This month's challenge is to carve one's own stamps or stencils. I carved this one (the rose) today, trying to add a little texture/shading to it. I started out with a photo of a rose, then applied the photocopy filter in Photoshop to get a two-toned print. I transfered the print to the rubber with rubbing alcohol (I thought it was my acetone, but I was wrong--and it worked!). I was not very patient with my Speedball today.
The following are stamps I carved a few years ago when I was on a petroglyph kick. I especially love the "Bad Kitty" petroglyph. It looks like Serena on a bad hairball day.

Petroglyphs are the bomb, baby! Love these. The cat's great. And your rose! I can't wait to try my hand at a rose. You have made such beautiful ones, and the lines are perfectly thick and smooth. Something to aspire to.

Great rose! It would be fun to stamp with paint on fabric with that one. We have that petroglyph here in New Mexico (you could make him roam around the rose even!).

What a great rose stamp! I have one like that, but I bought it. It never came to my mind that it would be possible to carve it. Nice job, really.

OMG!!! That rose is CRAZY good! I've got a thing for roses myself. The shading came out awesome. I've got to try that photoshop trick... and try an image with shading. Gorgeous!

These are great! The rose is gorgeous and I love the petroglyphs -- especially kitty. I've had bad hairball days myself. It's wonderfully expressive.
